Coalition Against
Violence Philosophy
Violence is a crime and a complex social problem, deeply rooted
in dominant society?s
traditional acceptance of inequality, particularly as
it relates to the everyday experiences
of
women, children, seniors and people from minority groups.
It is a basic, human right
to live without fear of physical, sexual or emotional abuse.
The community has a right
and a responsibility to get involved;
an interdisciplinary approach is
essential.
Because violence transcends
all class, cultural and ethnic boundaries,
there is a need for a broad spectrum of services to meet the needs of victims.
